Lakeside Villages Incorporated is a non-profit organisation established in 1979 by Delfin Property Group Limited (the developers of "West Lakes") in co-operation with Port Adelaide Central Mission (now known as Uniting Care Wesley Port Adelaide).
Lakeside Villages Incorporated is registered under the Associations Incorporation Act 1989 and has as its principal objectives the provision of:
- Management and maintenance of attractive resident-funded housing for the "not so young" - people 55 years and over.
- Recreational facilities appropriate to the interests of residents.
- A care co-ordinator whose role is to help with the sourcing of assistance for frailer residents from a range of services available.
Woodbridge Retirement Village at West Lakes has been established to provide for people not catered for by Government-subsidised housing schemes and who have some financial resources which they are prepared to invest in their retirement years. Extensive recreational opportunities on-site, community facilities and West Lakes Mall are all near by.
1989 brought to an end the unit construction phase at West Lakes with the completion of 221 homes for over 350 people at Woodbridge Retirement Village, which consists of independent-living units in four separate locations on Delfin Island and on the Lakefront.
